Description
Many people think that bullying only happens when you are a child or in school. But despite increasing awareness, bullying remains a major problem in many workplaces. Estimates suggest that 1 in 6 people in the UK have experienced bullying at work in the last three years, and 1 in 5 people have witnessed it in the workplace.
When faced with inappropriate behaviours, people might be unsure of how to respond. Or they may not even realise they are being bullied. Understanding how to recognise, respond to, record and report bullying can help create a safer and healthier working environment for everyone.

The Bullying in the Workplace eLearning course uses examples and interactions to highlight behaviours that would be considered bullying. It explains the differences between banter, firm management, bullying and harassment. The course uses multiple scenarios to help people identify bullying and cyberbullying, and how workplaces can work towards preventing these behaviours.
We all have a responsibility to work together to prevent bullying at work and help create a respectful and inclusive environment. However, despite everyone’s best efforts, bullying might still happen. The course describes how you can better recognise signs that you or someone else is being bullied and what steps you can take to stop it from continuing, for example, by speaking up or seeking help from a manager, HR or another relevant person in the organisation. Lastly, the course outlines how you can raise a formal complaint through your organisation’s disciplinary and grievance procedures and how you can better protect yourself if you experience bullying.
This Bullying in the Workplace Online Training course takes on average 30 minutes to complete.
